Upside Down Reflectionby JCrest01Comment: I'm guessing this to be a Whiterook entry.
Added: I feel I owe you a better explanation, since I did give it a low vote and I know that I hate getting a low vote and not knowing why someone thought it was so bad.
The main thing I see is a very soft, unclear image without a lot of detail. My best guess is that this is an extreme crop from the original shot. Your image is also only 500 pixels along the longest side. You should use the full 640 pixels allowed for the challenge on at least one edge. That makes maximum use of the limited size we are allowed.
I popped this pic into PaintShop Pro out of curiosity. Some quick adjustments of levels and curves really brought out the beautiful fall colors. I sharpened it a bit as well, but that can't do too much when the detail is not there in the first place. I was unable to bring out any detail at all from the sail or its reflection. Those highlights are washed out and there was no detail there to pull in.
Hope this was helpful for you. Looking forward to seeing what you do in the future. |

Church Upsetby orvaratliComment: A type of entry that I expected to see a lot of in this challenge, but using a reflection in a puddle is very effective and slightly different approach. It has almost a surreal, model-like appearance to it. I think I'm faving this one. |

Color Studyby jaysonmcComment: Kind of interesting, with nice colors, interesting patterns and good detail but I'm not sure what is upside down about it. It is certainly taken at a steep angle. Maybe you were upside down when you shot it? |

Hang On!by JessiComment: This makes me dizzy just looking at it. The unusual crop is effective and adds to the impression I got upon first glance. Well done. |

holidays put me up side downby jpdoomComment: I'm afraid this one is a really dark snapshot. Some adjustment with levels and/or curves could probably improve it a great deal. |

don't Parkby neophyteComment: I like the clarity and color here, though I don't feel simply flipping any photo upside down is a creative approach to the challenge. The point to your title may just not work with me. |

Bottoms Upby ALAComment: The light did well on the background and glass, perhaps not quite as flattering on the model. Still worth a 6 from me. |

Upside Downby MichaelsComment: Reflection in a lake? Abstracts tend to not do well in challenges, but maybe this is a topic that is friendlier to them. As for myself, I really like this. I find the colors and shapes very engaging and interesting. It plays with my eyes. A fave and a high vote. |
