A World of Richesby GopaulComment: ***REDACTED***
I've received many harsh but well intentioned comments. This, however, is just rude and uncalled for. You would do well to simply ignore this member.
Anyway, since I left my comment, I posted an example of the JPEG file save dialog from Paintshop Pro. I don't know what you are using, but the settings may be similar.
Hope this helps. PM me if I can be of any other help on this. Message edited by L2 - To remove quote of hidden comment. |

Life In Real Timeby lpatrickComment: Another interesting abstract that is liked by only a few. My opinion is that the low score does not mean "bad". It means "I-don't-get-it", which is to be expected for this sort of work. Message edited by author 2008-12-03 01:19:40. |

Oranginaby BudyaComment: Nice, though it seems a little oversharpened to me around some of the bubbles. Orangina is one of my favorite soft drinks, and the empty bottles are great for rooting plants. |

Smoke Breakby RegoComment: Seems a snapshot, though it also makes for some decent street photography. The backlit smoke and the texture of the wall are interesting patterns in this. The tilt is not quite enough to seem an intentional effort. It probably could use either straightening or a stronger, more intentional tilt. |

Holding Handsby SpongetoastComment: Seems a snapshot, I'm afraid. There is some flare in the upper right that you could have cropped out, but the major problem to me is JPEG compression.
Your file size of only 61k indicates a highly compressed image and that is what is robbing a lot of the detail and sharpness from this image. artifacts are especially visible in the pattern of the pavement. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. (150k for this one)
I don't know what you use for editing, of course, but I have posted an example and some notes on the compression settings in PaintShop Pro. Other programs should be similar, though not identical:
Hope this is helpful for you. |

Basking in the Warmthby MoatzComment: The image itself comes off to me as a snapshot, but one that could have been improved with the right post processing.
The biggest problem, however, is JPEG compression. Your file size of only 76k indicates a highly compressed image and that is what is robbing most of the detail and sharpness from this image. I can see lots of compression artifacts around the high contrast edges, especially just to the right of the bird. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. (150k for this one) I don't know what you use for editing, of course, but I have posted an example and some notes on the compression settings in PaintShop Pro:
Hope this is helpful for you. |

Lonely Redby fvelez2xComment: I'm sure that by now, others have left the same feedback I would have, but if they have not, I will leave a good description after the challenge of why I have to give this a rare 2. |
