Robbers Pass, Mpumalungaby sulamkComment: The slight bit of road at the bottom is my only nitpick of this otherwise dramatic and interesting landscape. |

Industrial Revolutionby Dr.ConfuserComment: Nicely done. Love the tones of the metal. I'm not sure if this is HDR or if you just caught some excellent lighting. Most photos I have done of similar industrial facilities have been lacking, while this is the kind of shot I have envisioned when I take them. Hope you left some good notes in your remarks block. A fave for this one. |

Bougainvilleaby AdiGriComment: A 36k file size tells me the main reason this shot isn't working for me. There is a lack of clarity to this photo and I think most of it is due to the use of excessive JPEG compression. That compression is what is robbing a lot of the detail and sharpness from this image. I can see visible artifacts and halos around the edges between the white and red, but it is hurting the entire image. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit. (200k for this one) |

Kellyby Mark-AComment: Very nice, though I feel you went overboard on pimping the eyes to the point where they look unnatural. |

Why am I white......when everyone else is yellow?by SEGComment: I gave it a 5. I understood what you were pointing out, and though it was slightly puzzling, it was not a serious curiosity for me. Mostly, though, I found it an average floral shot. Nothing really seemed to stand out from it. Perhaps the yellow flowers had too much green cast to really stand out. There was not a lot of detail coming through either. A closer shot, showing off the details of that one flower might have had more impact on me. Also, I am not a huge fan of floral shots, so ti has to be really well done to grab my attention. I'm not a big fan of square crops either. I only do them on my own shots when it is the only composition that works for an image. |
