With color, you may have been able to distinguish top/bottom, etc. I like the way it is framed, and the use of the empty space at the bottom. karmat |

| 07/06/2002 10:22:00 AM | Human Tableby Photo JimComment: At first I wondered why you would do a negative image. Then, I converted it and saw why. Good choice. Black and white also was somewhat interesting. I think a different angle would serve this picture better. Maybe lower (but not too much!) and more parallel to the table. Or you could have cropped it equally on all four sides, so that equal amounts of the table were cut or kept. karmat |
| 07/06/2002 02:51:00 PM | Recipe by Marie Laveauby albright1Comment: Okay, so I'm an idiot. I have studied, and studied and I just can't make the connection to transparency. Is it the fingernail looking things? It's a very well done picture -- good focus, composition, etc. and I apologize in advance if I am missing something totally obvious. karmat |

| 07/06/2002 11:16:00 AM | Vintage Lucite Purseby GraciousComment: Since the purse is the subject of the picture (according to the title and challenge), it may have been better to crop the glove and get the entire purse in the picture. Cropping out the very top would have taken away that "glimpse beyond" as well. I assume that it was difficult to photograph, because not only is it transparent, it probably reflects a lot of light, too. For that reason, maybe having two sources of light (one on either side) and diffused somehow (paper towels work well), may have helped you to keep from washing the right side out. I like the contrast of the black gloves and the pastels of the flowers and purse. karmat | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 07/06/2002 02:48:00 PM | The White Houseby mardocheeComment: Not completely sure what you are saying here. Are you saying the white house/politicians/etc are transparent? If so, does that mean you think they are honest, or there's nothing to them so you can see straight through? I see the windows, if that is what you were focusing on, but they are such a small part of this picture, it is hard to tell. Aside from that, this is a gorgeous shot. Don't know if you meant to do it or not, but the white building between the blue sky and red flowers is great. karmat |
