Double Deuceby colorcarnivalComment: I like how the two in the background are kind of like shadows of the two in the foreground |

Onion Skinsby jwaddisonComment: CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

Compositionally, the two elements of your shot are nicely balanced. I also like the curves on the red and how it contrasts with the lines on the green.
Technically, it is a wonderful study in contrasts. As mentioned above, the curves counter the straight lines, as well as the greens contrasting with the red. The focus on the water drops is good (which is always a dpc favorite ) and the dof is enough that the green onion doesn't compete too much with the red one. The colors, though, seem a bit flat. Maybe a touch more contrast or playing with levels or curves would help.
Overall, I think it is an interesting shot, a good take on the challenge and well done.
Best to you in future challenges.

Smooth?by PNHComment: CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

Compositionally, I think this is generally good. I'm wondering if angling the plant so that it runs more on a diagonal through the upper left and lower right corners would make it more dynamic. Also, whilst I thinking cropping part of the subject out can be effective, I think cropping out the little bit that you did makes the composition look accidental and not quite balanced.
Technically, it is good. The focus is in a good spot and utilizes shallow dof effectively. The background is a bit bland in color, but it doesn't effect the shot hugely, I don't think, but a whiter background might make the greens *pop* a bit more.
Overall, it is a good shot and a creative interpretation of the challenge (though some may have zinged you for that).
Best to you in your next challenges and enjoy dpc!!
