It may have been effective (depending on what was there) to compose this shot facing slightly more to your left. Then, the contrast been the smooth water and the rough water would have been more noticeable. Also, you have a nice sky, so it may feel more balanced to show more of it and less of the river, OR more of the river and less of the sky. That would get your horizon off the middle part of the shot.

I think it either needs to be composed/cropped further to the right to include the bridge or further to the left eliminating most of the bridge. It feels a bit centered, and thus static, to me.
