comic reliefby sohappy_02Comment: CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

Compositionally, this shot feels a bit tight from left to right. While cropping parts of the main subject out of the frame isn't always a bad thing, in this shot, losing her elbow gives it a disconnected feeling. Since the sleeve is different from the rest of the shirt, it almost looks like someone else's arm.
Technically, the exposure is good and the focus is good. It does seem a bit flat though. Also, the lack of color in her face gives her a statuesque look (which is neither/both bad or good, depending on what you were after). There is a good continuity of "green" from the sleeve to her eyes. that kinda makes it look like the arm "does" belong to her.
Finally, while her expression may indeed be humorous, it comes across more as whimsical or day-dreaming to me. If others felt like i did, that may explain some of your scores.
Best wishes in future challenges.

Vitamin Cby GeneralEComment: A healthy smile that will ward off and colds. :) The angle is interesting; it feels like it is upside down. |

Spirited Gestureby rodfulkComment: It's subtle, but I see it. The crop, to me, feels a bit "stagnant" as it is kinda tight. |

Surface Waveby zeuszenComment: There are those photographers that can record events as they happen. Those slightly better will capture the emotion that goes with the event. Still others can preserve joy, happiness, bliss without a human subject. The rarest of photographers can create an image that illustrates balance with despondency, angst and confusion. This image is the latter.

you have a brand new camera and don't have clue how to work it.
