That's very funny about the frog on your head incident. I guess it wanted to get back at you for all you put it through. I heard a funny story about one of those tropical frogs with the suction feet actually jumping and clinging to a girl's face and she wasn't particularly fond of frogs either.

At any rate, it's a wonderful image and a well deserved first place! Congratulations!

Venus and Jupiter and the Moon

This also shows the alignment quite well. I heard on the radio that the alignment is not an astronomical phenomenon but it won't happen again until the year 2052. So, depending on your age, this is a one-shot deal for a lot of us.

Although the planets and the moon appear to be close they are not at all. In fact, the moon is only 384,403 km from earth but Jupiter is 629 million km from earth and Venus is 40 million km from earth.

It's interesting how depending on where you are the alignment appears differently. From your location in Japan, the planets are diagonally above the moon whereas from our locations here in the US, the planets are diagonally below the moon.

This image has great movement and the B/W tones suit it perfectly. Excellent DOF and detail.

I was wondering if you used the Sigma 10-20mm lens for this. I have the same lens and find it to be quite versatile, great for scenic imagery as well as closeups.
