Fanstatic use of wide-angle, and very interesting post processing. The highlights are probably spiked on the right side of your histogram, but this is a very compelling image.

I feel the chill just looking at the image. Some might be distracted by the apparently underexposed pier, but I just call it a silhouette.

Midtone contrast needs adjusting, this seems grey and flat. It might be very nice in colour, if you post an outtake after the challenge voting is complete.
