Finally, an entry that's 'more' than a depiction of a tool! The eye is even placed where it ought to be placed, given the 'facial' composition. I have no doubt that this photo has much to endure beyond the confines of this challenge.

It seems the outlines (along tube and in the bends near the ear pieces) seems to suffer a little (from oversharpening?)

Despite of this, the image is a refreshing take on what could have easily been a 'threshed' topic and a 'sterile' subject. Hilarious, creative and my choice for Blue Ribbon!

The subject, certainly, is interesting. With perspective and composition nearly coinciding, a marked order of planes (lawn > steps > arches > mural > roof etc.). The hatted pair of onlookers in the left third is well used to offer a needed variation of overall symmetry.

The lighting, although advantageous in part (emphasis on hats and the gables distinguishing the the 'planes'), is quite harsh and fails to reveal much of the rich and intricate detail on the facades. I could also imagine a slightly tighter crop (right, bottom to top), to exclude some redundant information (tree leaves, several rows of tiles, part of right tower). Not an easy photo to compose in a fully satisfying way, really.

The inclusion of the foreground (lawn) or the given amount of it is something I'm still pondering...

All in all, a worthwhile capture. If it was mine, I'd consider re-shooting it at different times of day, if practical, under varied light.

Magic! That the perspective is so sympathetically synced to that of the lil guy, makes for a sensitive presence. Road, shadows, the precipitate drainage as well as the IR'd (?) trees 'lead' toward a wonderfully dramatic sky.

Effects seem to have been applied sparingly, and in such a way as not to 'rob the image'. Ah, I'd like to see more of this... :-)

I found it challenging to award higher scores for all but two shots. This is one of them.

It feels like a very natural and straightforward shot. Colour, hues and contrast, even the composition seem dictated from within the capture itself, which speaks to me.

Neither subject nor manner of this statue (?) naturally appeal to me, personally. Nevertheless, I need to give credit for a well composed and excellent shot. Lighting and exposure, especially, are painstakingly and sensitively appropiate.

Excellent perspective shot on a magnificent contemporary space! The visible background (trees, bottom right) is the only enigma, although I can appreciate the current crop. In the end and with respect for the challenge rules, I'd rather have the pleasure of seeing it at all!

This ironic capture (literally) relies entirely on one monumentally incredible sentence. For this reason, the various details (texture, partial background etc.) included here are, IMO, redundant and distracting. I imagine this shot edited to the point of rendering the mere subject, i.e. the statement carved here and an idea of it being part of a monument, no more.

Yet, the irony found here is extreme, and this makes it a rare and, at least, somewhat successful shot.
