row 7 seat Fby ursulaComment: Unless you had yourself strapped to a wing, this shot is surprisingly clear and sharp. Excellent and extreme metering, good balance between sky and crest, light and dark. Beautée.
Oh yes, the title has it, too. ;-) Good work, Ulla. Message edited by author 2004-05-17 12:03:26. |

Drowning Madnessby unknowndeathComment: I enjoyed the minimal simplicity of this image, bare of any distracting elements. The strong contrast coupled with the soft aquarell colours is unique and quite satisfying. The genourous crop renders a pleasing experience which does, unfortunately, not please all the crowd. Mice...by jjbeguinComment: "Hey, a DPC meet with bestagents and Neuferland in the fore."
(With apologies to bestagents and Neuferland)
What a rich parody! I'd consider it for My Favourites, but I already have quite a distinguished Beguin collection there. ;-) Message edited by author 2004-05-12 12:39:52. |

Hammer On, Pull Offby TallblokeComment: The subtle motion blur is exquisite, the dark and grainy tonal fluting in the background deliciously compliments the controlled exposure of highlights. I would have liked to see the full neck of the guitar included, but, hell, this is a gorgeous shot even without it. |

Acropolis Athensby TallblokeComment: The light conditions at this time of day may have been too challenging to turn this capture around, but what great timing to catch this hubbub, cranes, scaffolding and all associated with this landmark - a historical record. |

Evolutionby jmsetzlerComment: A dramatic b & white with well-contained contrasts and defined detail. The slow shutter speed, here, actually serves the purpose to proliferate the rock formation and its undulating texture as the photo's primary subject. While not a quiet picture (the highlights are strong, at least in part/the viewer is drawn into it via a spraying cataract), the composition is balanced by the available light and anchored by darkness. What I find particularly satisfying is the strong impression of depth realized and captured here.
The title, however, strikes me as somewhat too broad in scope and ambiguous for an image like this.
Nevertheless, there are none better than this (IMHO) in this challenge. |

ephemeronby ursulaComment: Very strong, balanced shot with a nice range of contrast, both in mood and light. Looks like four seasons in two minutes. :-)
The inclusion of the road adds much, IMHO. |
