Mirror, Mirror on the floor....by cbonsallComment: Hmmm... I like the composition of this shot but the 'ground up' concept is flawed here for several reasons... first of all, the camera is pointing down at the mirror... but i do see that the mirror is reflecting what is above it. So what's wrong? well, the objects in the mirror are oriented from a top down perspective as well. it looks like the treetops are pointing directly downwards and at an downward slope. Maybe I'm misinterpreting the whole idea here... maybe this is a 'bounce' shot that is bouncing the image off the ground mirror into your camera? Hmm... I don't know... I'll follow up on your comments with this one after the challenge is over... |

Homeworkby Crystal StreamsComment: I wish i wasn't such a huge fan of monochromatic images... I like the sepia tone here but I actually think that normal b/w may have served this shot better. Sepia usually gives an 'antique' mood to an image and this shot is not an antique subject. I like your challenge interpretation and this is a great photo! Good work! |

Old Timerby timj351Comment: I wish i had an opportunity to spend a few hours with this old man and my camera... I love your subject! I think this is a *perfect* candidate for black and white or sepia tones. Both modes seem to help convey antiquity. I don' t know how the contrast would be on the train but it would be worth seeing! Excellent photo! |

looking down at daddyby jbruno1397Comment: This is an interesting photo. I always admire the black and whites. My own tastes tell me that i would have tried to capture more of the face. My other issue is that I have no indication that I'm looking up other than the title of this photo... |

Light Rail Stationby marcieComment: This is an interesting photograph but I'm having trouble relating it to the challenge. it looks like the buildings in the distance are the subject of the photograph. If that's the case, I understand the challenge attempt. If the overhead canopy is the subject of the photo, I am missing out on this altogether. if the light posts are the subject, I would have been sure to not clip them off at the bottom of the photograph. I am a firm believer that all good photographs should have a definite subject. You don't want to leave your viewer wondering what he/she/it is supposed to be focusing on. Keep up the good work! |

A Dog's Lifeby GordonComment: Nice photo! Very well done. I would like to comment a little on the light pole.. this is an interesting optics problem that is hard to solve... i had similar problems shooting a lighthouse a while back... These tall pieces like to bend in the photo... Good shot! |

Up Lightsby justineComment: I like this shot! This painfully reminds me of my "quittin time" clock shot from last week. My idea was to produce a photo that was as close to technical perfection as possible. This photo is nicely centered and I can see ZERO flaws. It also meets the challenge nicely! Nice job! |

Green line, 5 pm, outboundby KimblyComment: I really like the concept of this particular shot. I really love black and whites as well. There is only a minor issue here with focus and sharpness. |
