I like long exposures quite a bit... This shot does an excellent job of describing the 'on the road' challenge... As I look at this image very closely, I believe I see some lack of clarity that may have been caused by camera shake. I'm not sure how long this exposure is but I'm assuming it's at least 2 or 3 seconds long. If you were not on a tripod for this shot, I can see where the shake may have come from. If you *were* on a tripod, you can still get camera shake from simply pressing the shutter release button. When I do a shot like this, I setup my composition and framing and exposure, and then let the camera timer take the photo. If the timer opens the shutter, you minimize your camera shake quite effectively... Nice shot!

I love the angles and the symmetry in this photo... The colors and contrasts are also very appealing to me. The only minor detail that I see (not affecting score) is the signs on the right.. That small amount of darkness tosses the symmetry off just a tiny bit... excellent shot!

Without the joke reference in the title, this 'greenlight' shot is going to be misinterpreted I believe... I would have worked towards a stronger interpretation of this challenge possibly...

Testing a new critique method with your photo:

Composition and Framing: I see absolutely no problems with this photo on either of these issues. The subject is very nicely placed on the 'third' line and also nicely centered vertically in the frame. The vertical centring allows the 'road' to have the visibility it needs in this challenge. I also really appreciate the way the shadow provides a nice diagonal in the frame. This diagonal helps draw attention to the subject.

Image quality: The image quality on this photo is also very nice. Everything is crisp and clear, as it should be in this type of photograph. The tones of blue that you have in your sky are very nice. Possibly a bit darker blue would have been nice but that is just my preference.

Challenge: This photo has done an excellent job of meeting the challenge. I expected to see something like this, but this is a good thing! Your impression of what I 'expected' to see is indeed beyond my expectation.

Note: One of my photography mentors has always told me that a photograph should generally read like a book - from left to right and from top to bottom. With this in *my* mind, I would possibly attempted to do this shot with the hiker placed on the 'left' third line and walking towards me instead of away from me. This is just a thought of my own personal opinion.

Now that I have tried my critique method on your photo, I think i like it. I obviously can't comment this way on everything, but maybe i will try it more in the future... btw - i scored this shot a 10.. i really like it! good job!

This is an interesting title for this photograph, considering the view is of the graveyard :) I think i get it :) The sense of motion in this photograph works really well for me... I know this could not be avoided but the iron post fence between you and the graveyard creates a nice blur, but the horizontal top of the fence sets a distinct horizontal break in this photo that is somewhat distracting. It took me a few moments to realize what I was looking at on that issue... thought for the day: In a photograph or any other piece of artwork, I don't think it's a good idea to leave your viewer wondering what they are looking at, not withstanding the issues with abstract art. Good job :)

I like everything about this photo except the sign in the upper right corner... *I* would like to see the whole sign or none of it... The architecture and the shadows provided here are excellent. It's obvoiusly a bright day here :) If this was *my* photo, I would have made a few level adjustments to tone down the brightness a tad and create even more contrasts by the architecture and the shadows... good work!
