Grandma's lamp, 1918by Frank BeckmanComment: This is a neat photo of an old lamp... you did an excellent job of removing a possibly distracting background with the black backdrop. In this particular image, i believe that teh lamp shade could use a little extra 'breathing room' at the top and on the sides... this lamp feels 'cramped' in this space :) - jmsetzler |

I'm Rusted & Weathered barely holding togetherby TracyComment: This old girl isn't dead yet :) I could be mistaken here, but it looks like this old truck has one of those chain link steering wheels :))) I like the black and white here but I think you may have over sharpened a little maybe... if you look at some of the diagonal lines in the photo, you can see some jagged edges... this is sometimes caused by sharpening... good shot :) - jmsetzler |

Coney Island Lightsby heartsdivideComment: interesting... Coney Island is an 'old' place in itself... I can't make up my mind if i like the concept of the old building in the photo or not... - jmsetzler |

"Every House Has a Story"by wheatabixComment: Great shot of an old house :) I like the corner view... it gives depth to the subject... Lots of photos like this are done straight on and the image looks flat... good shot :) - jmsetzler |

Old Dear Friendby jsabbartonComment: This is a very neat 'old' doll :) I believe that this photo could have had a LOT more impact if it was shot on a background that offered some more contrast... a darker background... maybe a composition that didn't bullseye center the subject would have worked better too :) - jmsetzler |

Pier Chainby KazComment: excellent shot... perfect depth of field... my only critiqe on this one is to either try to get closer or use a tighter crop... possibly a diagonal orientation of the chain in the frame would be nice too... good work :) - jmsetzler |

Dirty.by lennierComment: This is definitely an old fuel gage :) I think this photo would have some extra visual impact of the view was a little wider and the gage was off center... good shot :) - jmsetzler |

RusticMeby focusComment: Interesting :) I read your comments on this photo earlier in the forums... I think the composition on this photo would be better if the eye was located in the upper left third of the frame. The yellow tinting is a 'neat' effect but I don't really see what it adds to the photo. It doesn't 'take away' but it's not really a value-added enhancement for me. I also think that some more sharpness would accent the wrinkles and 'age' attributes of the face... good shot :) - jmsetzler |
