wow... grace is beautiful :) This looks like a portrait that I would expect to see as one of those huge oil paintings hanging along a winding staircase in a mansion somewhere... the light on her face makes me wonder what she is looking at... the most intriguing piece of this photo for me is the soft focus. This is a perfect example of how soft focus should be used... did you focus this way or did you use a soft filter? I would love to hear more about how this was done :) = 10 - jmsetzler

This is a good depiction of negative space... the evening sky with a tree silhouetted against the background works well... This particular image looks a little pixellated throughout the sky however... Mabye this image was enlarged from it's original size? I'm not sure what type of camera this was taken with either. Regardless of this.. the effort is well understood.. good shot :) - jmsetzler

This shot definitely shows negative space. I would love to know why you chose to position the candle in the upper right corner? I would also be interested in finding out if you tried this photo with the candle composed in different positions... I'm just curious... :) - jmsetzler

I'm a little lost on the 'negative space' concept in this photo... - jmsetzler

This is definitely a neat shot... I thought this was a big water drop from the thumbnail :) I can't make up my mind on the composition... I'm wondering if I would like this shot better in a vertical frame where the candle filled more of the bottom... at any rate, the negative space works nicely here and this is a good shot :) - jmsetzler

I see your intention here for negative space. I can't really say that the image inspires me much though. - jmsetzler

This is quite beautiful :) The moon's presence in the image adds an extremely nice touch... If an eagle or a condor or some other large bird was coming in for a landing here, that would be just amazing too :) great shot... = 9 - jmsetzler
nice wall for a sign

nice wall for a sign

Interesting shot... My comment here is regarding the negative space... The wall here being considered negative space is ok, but the support it lends to the sign as the subject isn't what I expected. IMO, negative space should not draw any attention away from your subject... it should support it. In this photo, the wall offers a lot of contrast with the lines, colors, and textures. IMO, this creates competition for viewing time with the subject... - jmsetzler
