Rest in Piscesby MWittComment: I would give this a 10 if you had cropped out the strip of land at the top of the image. When you compose a photo, everything counts. Everything is for a reason :) The land strip at the top is a contrasty attention grabber that holds no actual interest, but pulls the viewer's eye from the subject... |

Saturday Afternoon Cruiseby shareinncComment: I like canadian geese :) They are quite photogenic. This photo, as a land/waterscape seems to be ok, but there are a few opportunities I would have explored here. First of all, the composition of the 'horizon' splitting the center of the frame here seems to make me ask myself what it is in the top half of the frame that creates the interest for you. In general, when a horizon splits the frame in the center, there are equal amounts of interest on both sides of it. In this image, all of the interest is at the bottom of the frame. This composition does seem to help give some size and dimension perspective. If you want to include the far shoreline in this photo and keep a strong composition, maybe a lower angle photo would help a bit. You could still keep the geese in the frame and cut out a lot of the water between them and the land... bringing the horizon lower in the frame :) If I was aproaching this particular scene, i would have also probably tried to work a horizontal rather than vertical frame, but I don't know what is in this scene on the left or right... Likewise, I would have worked a tight composition of the geese alone.... |

Weedsby nfesselComment: This is a great image. I don't understand the tie-in with the challenge, but it's still a great piece :) = 10 |

Motionlessby rheardComment: I think this is a beautiful composition, but it seems to be a tad underexposed... |

Time to open the blinds.by jjbeguinComment: Life is all about time, unfortunately. We spend our days working... our nights sleeping... (most of the time) and the few hours that we have left, we try to have some 'quality' time alone or with ones we love. The time displayed on your watch here and the dark mood of the photo reminds me that time is short... We are approacing the 'eleventh hour' :) Excellent work... nice storytelling too... I hope my interpretation is similar in some way to your own :) = 10 |

Handcrafted facesby JohannesFrankComment: Greetings :) This is a wonderfully 'moody' black and white. The light/dark contrasts in this image create a nice sense of depth, and that is also strengthened by the depth of field choice. I believe that good black and white photos have strong characteristics in contrast and texture, and this has both... excellent work :) = 10 |
