Congrats on the blue ribbon for this challenge :) I think winning this challenge is a major accomplishment. You were up against a lot of good photos and the photographers had a lot more time to prepare for this one. The uniqueness of this bird and your talent with the camera have certainly come together well in this image. I look forward to seeing a lot more of your stuff on the front page this year :)

This is an excellent architectural abstract. The lines and curves create a nice flow in this photo. This is definitely an intriguing structure. Very nice capture :)

This photo doesn't really appear to meet the challege in my opinion. It is a 'christmas' photograph, but it os not really a decoration. I don't find anything particularly tacky or gaudy about it. It is out of focus as well. I don't know if this was your intent, but it does add some amount of an interesting mood. My overall opinion of this photo is that it is subjectively weak for use in a challenge here.
