Search google for "Rule of Thirds" (Wikipedia also has a good entry on it). I like the road, but there is no point of interest along it. The lighting is bland, and the center of the picture is rather dark. This is a great place to learn and improve your picture-taking skills. Remember, every comment is simply one person's opinion - no more or less valid than yours.

The focus of your picture is a brown, dead thing. The cluster of flowers in the bottom left looks like a better subject to me.

Normally, I'd note that his face is in shadow. But, in this picture it works - almost as if you've substituted shadow for soft focus. This, combined with his expression creates a soft mood that his eyes and mouth hint is not the whole story. The depth of field assures your focus is where it should be, and there is nothing distracting in the background.

Excellent composition, depth of field, and color. Near side of bird's head is in shadow. Fill flash may have greatly improved this picture.

Wonderful color and nice angle. This could benefit from a good zoom. Current framing includes the lower left corner of brown, the sky almost uniform white, and a yellow building in the upper right, leaving the beautiful flowers about 25-35% of the picture. Try cropping it so the partially leafed tree is at the upper left foci, and the willow as the upper right foci and see what you think. Also watch your shadow - is that it in the center lower edge of the picture or just dark green grass?
