Turning Vehicles Yield to Pedestrians

Comment:
Nice tie-in of red newspaper box and red shirt. Somehow, it bothers me that the pedestrians on safely on the sidewalk, away from traffic, and walking away from the camera.

Rush Hour!
by Ecce_Signum

Comment:
Rather unusual juxtaposition of elements - rush hour with only one car in a very rural setting, sharp image with blurry car (nice capture, with semi-transparent vehicle). Lower angle. For me, the image is technically good, but there are too many messages and they are disjointed.

FWIW - Considering my scores, what do I know, but my thoughts...
It is a busy picture - lots of rocks, bushes, etc. in the background.
The tree line seems to have a light border between it and the sky (result of processing, I'd guess)
To me, the biggest problem is that the cannon is pointing out of the picture to the left. It would work if the cannon was on the other side of the statue, or if there was some space for the cannon to point into.
I think this monument would have worked better photographically if you'd included only the cannon or the statue, but not both. Maybe there is a better angle that would "condense" the elements - making them appear closer together.
I think this is an excellent example of a historical group placing things with no thought of photography. Here's a cannon. Here's a statue. How we place them doesn't matter. With a little thought, a better arrangement could have been used making the scene more memorable and accessible.
You have some very nice color / texture in the ground cover.

No votes below 5! Absolutely great image. Too bad about the DQ, but it had nothing to do with the quality of the image.

Great concept and nicely done. For me, I think the red wheelbarrow makes the picture - at least I think it would have a lot less impact without it.

I must be slow today - don't get how the title relates to the picture - looks more like Barbie is about to get dumped. I especially like the lighting on the neck and side of the dinosaur.

Looks like Will has been to the bleaching salon ;p. Great concept and nicely done. Not sure about the lighting to puts a bright spot around the nose of each cop.

Imagine that - Toy Story characters in a Toy Story challenge. Nicely done. Reminds me of the desktop in the original Toy Story movie.
