Misunderstoodby GeocideComment: Not sure I like the open mouth. The stone on his necklace is a primary focal area of the picture, but is out of focus, which I find distracting. Nice, crisp focus on face & I like the contrast of lighting. If he wants to be less "Misunderstood", he would do well to learn the meaning in western culture of "Silence is consent". |

Slow day in the halls of Godby chazyorickComment: Don't choose difficult subjects, do you? The hallway is too dark, and the outside is blown out (overexposed). The primary focus becomes the hallway floor, which is featureless except shadows from the arches, etc. |

in top of the worldby dl_maggiComment: Not sure the shadow of the cross shows up well enough in this size. The foreground is too dark. This is one of those situations where a camera will just not capture the experience. The photo does, however, capture enough to remind you of it - which may be the most valuable of all. |

Chapel of the Holy Crossby muckpondComment: The rocks in the background appear to be a little washed out. Love the bright red rock and contrasting chapel. (I know, I wouldn't have been able to resist the tower rocks or clouds either...) |

Sacrifice by graphicfunkComment: The monochrome, combined with excellent highlights and contrast makes this an exceptional shot. For example, the white highlight on the near edge of the hammer saves that part of the shot from being too dark. The dirty hands on the hammer and nail vs. the clean hand. Even the wood of the cross looks metallic in this lighting. |
