Memories last 4everby evaComment: Nice subject. Nice lighting. I think the strong shadows add to the mood of the picture and are contemplative. I'd like to see a little more depth of field. |

Golgothaby scarbrdComment: Did you want to enter this in backlit? For me, the foreground is too dark - with most of the detail hidden. |

Intimidation by HaneckComment: Or inspiring - something to help us lift our eyes off of our daily existence and think about something beyond our little existence. 'Tis a matter of perspective. |

Some Gave Allby gmiller64Comment: You've done a nice job of capturing the rows & symmetry. Making the back top line of tombstones parallel with the top / bottom of the photo, and toning down the stark white of the markers (and if you could pick up some detail of the inscriptions as a bonus) would improve this shot. You might also consider cropping out some of the grass in the foreground and adding some sky. The other think that works against you here is the top line of the tombstones is just about the middle of the photo - typically you want such a strong horizontal line to be 1/3 from the top or from the bottom. It would even work to shift the photo down so you have top 1/3 trees, middle 1/3 tombstones, and bottom 1/3 grass.
Too quickly in the U.S. we forget that our freedom was bought and is kept at the highest cost. Thanks for the reminder. |

Indianapolis Canalby ltaylorComment: Too much shadow in the foreground pushes the viewer away from the photo rather than drawing them in. Nice skyline in the background - may be worth trying to zoom in to focus on that. |

Anglesby cathysappComment: The building with the pyramid top is not parallel to the side of the photo (nor is the light post. I think this would have more impact if the main feature vertical was parallel to the side, and the other lines as they fit. Still, this is a nice shot. |
