Day 4 Cindyby TCGuruComment: Very nice. Good composition, lighting, contrast. Cindy's great expression and looking directly at the camera really draw you into the shot. |

Day04 The Morning Afterby doc_gonzoComment: Watch the juxtaposition of the background skyline, jetty, and lifeguard seat. It looks very busy in the upper right corner. I think this might have been even better with a little sky showing beneath the seat - a lower perspective. I also agree about the strangeness in the sky.
This is a very nice, poignant shot (at least for those of us who like the beach). |

4-The Magical Fruitby BudComment: Nice contrast & detail. I think the slightly offset framing adds to the shot. |

Is this thing loaded?by QuigleyComment: Nice idea and fun shot. I find Isaac's face a little dark. This type of capture is a special memory - regardless of how "good" it is. |

DSC_3675small.jpgby walrus451Comment: Not sure what you were going for here. Generally, I'm not all that fond of OOF shots, and this qualifies as OOF - with the exception of the near balcony railing and dormer window. If your target was Halloween or spooky, you got it. The jet trail is a detractor, but minor compared to the OOF effect. |

Alayna.jpgby pibbyComment: What a cutie pie! You're working with a challenging shot here - the bright light from outside, and the comparative darkness of inside. I'd second the reflector idea. You can also paint the bottom of a pizza box chrome or silver and use that... Alayna's face is half in shadow, and she is the most interesting thing in your photo. The wooden spoon also gets lost - use your props creatively to get an even better shot. |

Magalia Community Churchby cogeroxComment: I really like this shot. Nice subject, textures, and contrast. You might try a tighter crop on it(from about where the first row of concrete out from the step intersects the right side of the photo to just left of the main tree. For my taste, there is just a little too much of the concrete in the foreground (basically a pattern with very little interest). See below.

The look.jpgby ATAPEComment: Nice cature. Very nice expression, face in sharp focus, background up through neck OOF. Something definitely has the cat's attention. A couple of nits - the photo could have been straightened - a line from cat's ear to cat's right fore paw could have been parallel to the edge of the photo & I think it would improve the shot. The other thing may be just personal preference, but I find it highly distracting when post processing results in a topographical map look (I call it banding) in what should a gradient. Look at the bright spot just to the left of the cat's head - see the lines in the gray as you move down to the darker part of the shot? |
