Reflectionby hajekaComment: This one makes me jealous - spring flowers already out, nice reflections on not-quite-still water. Beautiful blue sky reflection. Very nice composition and lighting. My favorite of your five (at least I think so, though I like your last shot very much too). |

Geeseby hajekaComment: I hate these shots - just could be so great, and never seem to come out the way you want. The flying geese are too far away to make out clearly, and blend with the background. The near geese overlap, making the head/neck profile of the near one hard to see. Love the nice, even lighting and the coloring, though - very serene, even nostalgic, makes me long for an outdoors adventure. |

Fenceby hajekaComment: Love the contrast of the red and green, as well as the partial reflection in the puddle. |

Blue skyby hajekaComment: Power distribution poles not a favorite subject, but you've got to love the puffy white clouds, and the way the power lines and water on either side of the towers lead your eye to the far horizon. Very nice lighting on the fence in the mid foreground. |

coal mineby charliebakerComment: I like the nice, even exposure here. Are you sure this is a coal mine? Looks like the inside of a closet with the door shut to me. |

The smallest groomby jaysonmcComment: This just works - regardless of the "rules" - on so many levels. The framing with the curtains, the light blue of the dresses being about the only strong color in the shot, contrasted with the white of the boys shirt, the posed girls and the boy in (constant?) motion, being a statement on the nature of little boys (and young ladies), the older girls looking at the boy (the youngest girl is looking at the camera, but that also seems to add to the shot rather than detract). |

The Road Warriorby TygerPawzComment: And an accident looking for a place to happen, and unfortunately, someone to happen to. I do hope this was staged with the car stopped. |

Changing the Guardby facesastheycomeComment: Love the red. Like the subject matter a lot. This type of shot is very difficult - a moment in passing, and probably a very nice memory. As a photo, the faces of both men are too much in shadow, and the focus of the picture is the man on the right, who is facing away from you. The focus wants to be (I think) on the man on the left, but there you have problems with the bright sun / shadow on his face. I suggest experimenting with a tighter crop that actually loses some of the man on the right, & tighter to the tip of the sword. I can understand wanting to leave the lantern on the left and helmet on the right intact, but you may have to sacrifice that in order to get the most from this shot. |

Preparing For Lift Offby ChinabunComment: Perhaps just my interpretation, but this seems a bit far away to be a "portrait". What wonderful color in the parasail! |
