BMW Plantby fantomfotoComment: I would love to visit this. Also the Porsche and Daimler-Benz plants / test tracks. Germany has such a history of producing significant automobiles. VW may be interesting too. |

BMW Plantby fantomfotoComment: Interesting angles and nice in B&W. I find myself wishing the reflections in the black windows were a bit sharper. |

A Fast BMWby fantomfotoComment: Very nice shot - indoor shots in a museum with all that lighting is tough, but you've pulled off a great compromise here that loses very little to burns and still has the rear wing in sharp focus and showing brilliant color. F1 the best sport? With one driver so totally dominating? Ah, well, my favorite has fallen from favor due to squabbling and is finally starting to rebuild. It was great to see Indianapolis Motor Speedway bring F1 to the US, but a great disappointment to have so many drivers pull from the race because of tire troubles. When a sport is trying to build a following, that is just a killer. Guess they had similar trouble with the NASCAR race there this year as well.

56 Nomadby jhomrighausComment: That's on every 56 Chevy - show me some ribs! Great angle and shot. Hadn't thought to do that one in all my shots of the 50's Chevys, but it is definitely iconic and you've captured it well. I like shots like this - like the porthole on the '50s Thunderbirds, or the hood - something that is just one feature of the car, but identifies it immediately. The Chevy Nomad was a fantastic auto - so much more than the standard wagon (especially those of the competitors). |

Classic Quattroby inamoComment: Nice capture - great colors, focus, crop, lighting all with a fast-moving subject. If you've never had the chance to ride / drive one of these machines at speed, it is a rush you'll not easily forget. I got to ride shotgun in a Porsche 911 at a "driver's training" event at Seattle International Raceway. My helmet was glued to the side window as we hit the apex of the S at 45 mph, with the driver chatting merrily away... |

Sep 02.jpgby Mr_PantsComment: I'm still trying to figure out their logo - a stylized chicken on an arrow? Regardless, this shot does a great job of conveying age plus a nice rendering of the company symbol. I too had never heard of Skoda - looks like they now have some interesting body styles. At least they're not a Yugo - the rebranded FIAT. |

Ford-front-View-by sfaliceComment: This looks a little stretched top to bottom - also something funky happened around the front turn signals on the fenders. You've got the makings of a great collage with this series. |

seen-better-days.jpgby Gordon_1Comment: Look at this shot and compare it with your race car shots - you can clearly see the difference in quality. First, this is a tough shooting condition - bright light on the front / right side, deep shade from the trees, shooting into the sun, so you also have the deep shadow of the truck itself. The contrast between the two lighting conditions loses almost all detail in the shadows while almost blowing out the highlights on the cab roof (for example). Also, your shot looks like it has an overall pink cast to it (even though blue sky can be seen through the trees). If this is a morning or evening shot, I suggest going back at the opposite time of day and reshoot (presuming the lighting would be behind you). If not, you might try focusing and getting your readings from the rear mudflap. This will bring out more detail in the shadow, but worsen your highlights in the front. You might also try shooting from off the right front fender, again getting your settings from the shadowed part of the bed.
