the porch where memory rocks into silenceby posthumousComment: I love the concept and the title. But, for me, the execution just didn't quite get there. Not sure why, but there are a couple of things that work against you with this composition. In the central 3 panes, you've chopped off the top of the "arch", yet at the bottom of each, the entire arch is present, plus some additional unidentifiable "stuff" - generally it is better to balance - if you chop the top, chop the bottom too. Also, IMO, the left and right of the three panels distract - especially the left, which appears like it has lots to look at but, upon closer examination, does not. Plus, the right 4 sections of the picture are approximately the same width, but the area to the left is about 1/2 again as wide.
Again, I love the concept and the title. I also like that the porch could be in perfect condition, but the distortions in the center 3 panels makes it look to be in decay. 4 |

Christmas Ice Creamby bobnospumComment: Talk about a bell curve! This strikes me as doing an excellent job of capturing the "Christmas Tree Mood". It is a shot to be absorbed and deserves much more than a quick glance. |

pescadero-porchby sfaliceComment: Cute. Don't you hate when things are placed just far enough apart that it makes it hard to get multiples into the shot without it looking forced? |

Ornamentby karmatComment: I like the simplicity of this shot. While I'm sure it is very pretty in color, the monochrome is really nice. |

Classicby karmatComment: OK. I'm a sucker for pine cones. I really like the crop on this - has a nice visual "flow" from bottom left to upper right. |

Jingle, Jingle, Jingleby karmatComment: Love the jingle bells. The contrast of the hard smooth metal and textured soft cloth presents a nice tension. |

Run for your life!by whatdewucComment: Enthused? I like the lighting and the shadows, and the the fact this is a bit off the wall. IMO, the near side of the wire cutters is too dark. |

Yessss! The doors can open!by TrollManComment: The simple background adds a lot to this shot. Great color contrast with yellow car & blue outfit. Great expression and nice hair highlights. |
