IMO this is a bit OOF (with possible exception of the clear bubble). There also seems to be a grainy texture to the orange ripples. Not a bad shot, just missing something - needs a bit of extra pop of some kind.

IMO, there is something seriously wrong with the perspective in this shot. A huge part of it is the petal eyelashes, but part of it is also that there is not enough information to know if she is standing or lying down. Same for the angle the shot was taken from. Also, she looks young, but may not be. Head size does not seem to match her arms and shoulders. I also find the background distracting.
Lighting, colors, sharpness are all very good.
This is a technically excellent shot. At the same time, I have a negative emotional reaction to it.

dpc'ers do not like wood shots. Not sure why.
My immediate reaction is that the main part of your shot is in shadow, while the background / supporting parts are sunlit. Also, for a Western audience, the direction to lead the eye is from the left to right, and your shot tries to lead from right to left (and, for me, meets significant resistance for that angle / direction of travel).
You've got some nice colors in the woods in the background.

This is a very nice shot. I think it is very cute to have Minnie reading about a mouse getting a cookie.
Sharpness counts for a lot with the voters, but don't let scores keep you from entering. One of my few favorites was on one of my lowest scoring shots. So, you never know when your shot is going to communicate with someone - plus you get to improve you abilities.
I'm very much looking forward to your next entry.

Congratulations on your first entry.
IMO this is a great shot of a much-loved and much-used playground toy.
I like the angle, composition, and lighting on this. I think the subject is challenging because you can't move it - your only option is to move the camera. I find the sidewalk cutting through the shot in the background distracting. If shooting from the other side would give a more uniform background, I think that would be better.
I would say do not be discouraged with your score.
What you entered may not be what people are seeing as they vote. For example, on my laptop, if the screen is vertical, the tucan's head is all-white and almost blown out, and the contrast in the shot is very low. However, if I tilt the screen back a bit, the picture has a great deal more contrast, and you can see the paint line and different shades on the tucan's head. What I'm saying is that some of your low votes may be a result of the voters' displays, and not a true reflection on your shot. For me, I would probably vote one point higher if I'd seen the shot with the monitor back a bit instead of in the vertical position.
I like your vision and eye, and am looking forward to seeing your next entry!

Five Eggs Remaining

Welcome to dpchallenge. Use the egg as inspiration - you have to develop a tough shell - lots of folks presume they know the intent, skill level, equipment, etc. of the photographer and vote (and comment) from that point of view. dpchallenge is a great place to grow and learn. If that is your desire, there are quite a few here who are willing to help.
Perhaps this will help. I find your entry inspiring in that you have now entered more challenges than many who have been around for years and never gotten up the courage to enter.
Looking forward to your next entry.

Very nice capture & processing. For posing, IMO it would be better to not have her right hand in the shot, and to move her left hand up the tree a bit. IMO, her right hand is in the main focal point of the picture, but it is "in front" of the main subject (her face) and OOF.

In the preview, this looked like it had a bluish cast. Looks OK in the full-size version, though. It also looks like you have an editing problem running down the length of her nose - over highlighted, artificial selection. It looks like a similar problem above her jawline back towards her ear, but not as intense.

This is a very nice capture of a very attractive young lady. Please tell her I said so.

Her right leg is what I mean by a position that looks awkward / painful. I like the highlights in her hair. Her expression appears relaxed and natural. Again, a very different angle. The angle makes her head look huge, and her body tiny. Yet, you've made it work nicely.
