The Bocce Player

Comment:
Very dramatic, never knew Bocce was so action filled. I like the effect of the soft focus on the bold sunlight - very heroic feel, vibrant, suggets action without bluring. I don't like the dark spots in the corners tho'

Great subject, good title. very nice soft beams of light. I'd crop a bit on the bottom and bring th land on the left closer if not touching the bottom edge. It gives those light beams (and your eyes) a solid destination and somehow feels better to me.

Woah. This looks like a scene out of a movie with special effects. I assume this is a sculpture, those are funky reflections. Wish both front feet were in the frame and the dragon had a bit more room around him, would give more of a feeling he was about to take off. I'f afraid your attempt at soft focus just looks too much like out of focus.

I'd love to get this present. I like the gold stripes - though could be brought out better with more light, and the soft focus would make them glow apealingly. A spot of light on the top where the bow is would top it off nicely. This really is too dark.

A dreamy girl is a good subject for a soft focus. I like the flowered background - would have like just that - and not the dark purple pillow too, althoughit does put her head at a nice angle. Wish there was a bit more light on her face - I feel I can see her sholfder better than her face right now. And I think the focus is a bit too soft..

love those eyes! The light is beautiful, the soft focus works well to show the feeling of the photographer for the subject, and the warmth of the boy himself. The background is distracting - could you try cropping most of it out? The part I'd most like to loose is the bright sunlight - too bad thats really not an area you can crop.

An interesting idea. I'm more struck my the shallow depth of focus than the soft focus. The sax is so out of range it is hard to tell what it is. I don;t feel a connection between the music and the sax. Maybe to have the instrument lying on top of the music, the white of the page could give a nice glow using soft focus...

lovely title, lovely subject. The soft focus gives us a feel both for the texture and the scent of the rose, but at the same time it is abstract enough just to enjoy the shapes and color. The composition is nice with the center of the flower at the "thirds" line. 9

This is a charming, eye-catching shot. First of all you couldn't get a better model. Next the combination of that pink fuzzy hood and that beautiful hair is super! The soft focus is just right - not blurred, but glowing. Wish the back of the hood were in the picture too feels cut off - or crop out all of the background, just have the pink framing her face? 8

A sweet portrait. Nice use of soft focus, works nicely on the wisps of her hair, it feels a bit intensely soft on her face, I'd like to see her a bit more clearly. I like your choice of the bark for the background - I'd crop on the left to remove that bit of grass it is distracting.
