Death's Doorby ibkcComment: Interesting interpretation - good idea for this challenge. Do I even see "bones" in the arm? Wish the person were a bit more distinct (I know they are supposed to be ghostly) The light from the door is so bright it really draws the eye away from the person and I didn't see them at first - perhaps making the light more subtle would reach a balance? |

Balancing Act by hokieComment: Very nice - good lighting, nice colors, fun subject. Strong diagonal composition is an ironic companion to the delicate ladybug - creates some nice tension. Light a little blown out on the bug, and focus seems a bit soft. Very enjoyable! |

From Behindby Phoenix21Comment: Your background is distracting and the flash burst and glare draws the eyes away from the subject which I wish were in focus. I like the way the light captures the texture of your hair - there's on good piece for the challenge. Setting a table lamp without its shade behind yourself and the camera on a tripod or table in fron of you would be a better start. A dark background, or at least a uniform one would emphasize the subject better. |

Faceless Nightsby angela_packardComment: Great lighting, and good composition with a subtle diagonal between the shoulder on the view's right to the tips of the blowing hair on the upper left. Abstract, but meaningful. I really enjoy this. |

calaby DarkprincessComment: Despite the color and glow of this picture, I find it hard to pick out a central object - the cala is not in focus, and the backlighiting is so extreem you've lost a lot of detail. The rose is not in focus either. You've pushed the yellow so far you've gotten some odd artifacts in the center of the cala. |

Winter Afternoonby Bear_MusicComment: Driving down the highway yesterday I saw just this sight! You've done a good job capturing the brilliance of the angled sunlight and the golden color of the grass. Good use of depth of focus. |

Colourful Shadowby KarenNfldComment: Nice extention of the backlighting to have the colorful shadows. Makes for a nice composition. |

Glass of Red Wineby TheDruidComment: A terrific background - the colors compliment the wine's color, and the texture is a lovely contrast. The light is a bit too blown out in the top right corner. I like how the light catched the surface of the wine, highlighting it where it meets the glass. Nice color, nice mood. Good use of backlighting! |

The sun behind an old treeby samanwarComment: With advanced editing you could darken the sky even more - but this has a nice impact as is. I like the composition witht eh path in the corner and the silvery clouds on the thirds line. |
