Just a Slice...by sfarrell23Comment: The light coming through the center is so bright in relation to the orange it draws your eye away - and the imperfect shape of the hole detracts from the symetry and doesn't add to the composition. Focus is not sharp. |

Fountain at twilightby pmottaComment: I like the waay the water catches the light and makes you backlighting a subject not just lighting. I like how the composition balances the figure in the foreground and the figure behind the water. Wish her feet weren't cropped, and his head (?). The building in the background is a bit distracting. Wish there were more details in the foreground figure, she is also a bit out of focus. |

Drink like a Fishby marcelliebComment: I like how the colors of the fish match the colors of the writing. The backlighting doesn't really help the image - it decreases the detail on the fish. The focus is not sharp and the bumped up saturation and contrast looses more details and has created some odd artifacts in the white background. |

Snow Heavenby KHoltComment: Wish I were there! Gorgeous - good pick for the challenge. I'd crop out the chair in the upper right corner it really pulls away from the composition. |

Lime lightby PurpleFireComment: Very cool and simple. I like the layered effect - focus seems a bit soft. |

Spicy !by soupComment: I like the blue hightlight on the water drop and how well it compliments the color of the pepper. The water on the table is a bit distracting - cleaner if it were a painler reflection - more attention on the real image and the details of the light. Nice subject. Very pleasant. |

Fairy Tearby Dax-Comment: Very unusual, glorious colors, nice blend of backlighting and narrow DOF with a fine point of interest. |

THE TREEby WessyComment: Magical tone - I like the golden color despite the cold snow. Composition feels a bit random - bits of branches at top and on left distract. Focus is soft - which might be thematic, but with the soft contrast it feels mushy. |

Flower Anatomyby TejComment: Unusual, abstract but anchored by the real world, I like the frilly details of the anthers(?) and they have a nice touch of backlighting to highlight them. Nice thirds composition. The dark corners draw my eyes away and the subject is so subtle it just doesn't hold my attention somehow. |

The Vase.by richabhatiaComment: Lovely image, focus good, nice color, and well lit but the lighitng seems to come predominantly from the side. I can't see this as an effective use of backlighting. Really a nice photo though shows the talent of the photographer. |
