King Arthurby deemerComment: I like your composition - water and grass, and the goose standing regally on the thirds line. I this it would be more powerful more saturated - it is very bright and gray. |

Grace In Autumnby roy204Comment: I love all the orange, separated by different shapes and textures. It is so simple, and fine. The frame really makes it pop. 9 |

God in the Dock by C.S. Lewis by dsidwellComment: gorgeous! your eyes get all lost in that vision of mountains and clouds and reflections and by the time you've worked your way down the photo yo find yourself on the dock. Colors and light work well. I wis the branches on the right weren't there. 9 |

The Unlit Lamp (Radclyffe Hall)by CatherineComment: Very abstract. The light bulb, the light coming thru the lightbulb coloring the rough surface... Wish there were less refections in the glass of the bulb, but they aren't very distracting. Beyond the colors and textures I don't get a lot on "meaning." 7 |

John Steinbeck: Grapes of Wrathby crabappl3Comment: ok I've scolded other photos for not fitting with thier title if you don't know the book, BUT this picture captures the image in my mind when I read that book PERFECTLY. Very bleak and powerful. Nice sepia - looks like a period photo. very nice 10 |

Prospecting for goldby Pop_in_OzComment: nice complementary colors. You;ve pushed the saturation a bit too far - see the pink pixels int the blue cloud. I like the blue light on the landscape - very monotone. Looking for gold in a barren land. |

Gone With the Windby GPComment: The clouds are gone..what else has gone from your picture? I like the red roof and the silouetted weather vane, but the colors and details are muted as it the sun had gone behind a cloud. |

Christineby WILDBLUEComment: Perhaps a bit too close cropped - I feel like I'm missing some details on the edge - like the subject just doesn't fit into the composition. I like the bright red, the silver - shiny clean car. Title woldn't work without knowing the story. |

Great Expectationsby adeywilliamsComment: I like the colors in this picture. It feels very British. Now I look I could have gotten that from the road markings - but the colors say England to me. I'm not sure what the expectaions are (knowing the story I realize the crumbling monument to the past...) I think it would be more cohesive cropped in on the barn with the sheep in the fields behind - a vertical composition. Or actually include the tree on the right - I'd miss that if it were lost. So scratch the vertical comment - more of a square composition. What do you think? |
