Software Debuggingby NeilComment: I forgot - how would it work in b&w? Esp with the other side of the disc up could provide nice texture/brightness contrast with the can and hand. |

Software Debuggingby NeilComment: Hi, I looked at your forum thread, and as you requested i'm responding here. I reallly like this idea, and while the lighting must have been tough, you did a good job. Still wish the focus on the hand and can had been sharper, or perhaps some light from the side to throw more shadows on the hand and show more texture in the flesh and more dimensionality. I like your white glove idea, but that would have been hard to light too. I like the simplicity, and sterile feeling a glove would add ( maybe even a plastic glove?) The whole image is a bit busy - there are all those holograms on the disk which lean my eye away from the bug spray, which is where the real joke is. How about using the other side of the disc? the move the hand and can more into the frame - I stil think you should include mor of the thumb. And if we could see a bit more of the can it would make it more central focus, then the eye would go to the disc, and, "a ha!" they'd get the joke. I say give your white glove idea a try, I'd love to see the results. |

Jam on the Brakesby NatatorComment: Simon, Comgratulations! Your highest score yet! Looks like the amount of jam wasn't a problem after all! Hope it wasn't too hard to clean up. |

Can of worms by kiwinessComment: Very nice choices - the plain silver can contrasts great with the solor and texture of the worms. Well done white background. Nice composition with the worm reaching to the corner and the other framing the bottom edge of the can. 9 |

To spike a drink by kosmikkreeperComment: Wow! What a gorgeous reflection in that droplet! I like the shallow DOF - really highlights the sharpness of the front of the spike and the droplet. Great detail, lighting. 10 |

Flowers Foreverby melbComment: This ia a beautiful garden. The composition is a bit chaotic, although I do like the corner of silver leaves. The light onthe silver is a bit bright and washes out the details, and the light on the rest of the flowers is flat and doesn't help to bring out any details. I'd be interestedin seeing a tighter composition of the flaming pink leaves against a background on the silver leaves. |

Enlist Today!by tomlewis1980Comment: I like this - same as the other one using woden models - the mindless patriotism. I like the sharp silouette, and I'm intrigued by the multiple flag effect - how does that work? The meaning in great - overblown image, with little substance and now thought to meaning. Nice composition - the balance to the blue field and the dark figuresm the diagonal of the stripes . may favorite of those I've seen. 10 |

Shed Some LIght on the Subject, Read!by sagestudioComment: Here here! Very nice simple composition. Darws aur attention to the book and the expression on the girl's face. That wonderful comunion between reader and book. Very nice. I wish the whole background were black - not with the material on the right. still very nice! 7 |

Solidarity Against Terrorism !by fdpiechComment: Ah, mindless patriotism. Nice meaning, nicelighting - the light on the blank faces and on the flat of the hands as they point to the corner (nice composition too) Would have looked cool with a long line of these "patriots" fading into the background with a shallow DOF - with just two of them I think it would be better if both were sharp. I like this very much. 8 |
