Well it certainly works. Your eyes are amazing and you're already a favorite of mine because of the freckles - I just love freckles. The overlay is lovely and adds a feeling I can't quite describe. i just love it.

It's funny that your eyes are not looking in the same direction on both shots. Gives a quirky, "guess-what-I-can-do" feeling. the fact that the two shots are not perfectly aligned emphasizes that feeling too.

good focus and catchlights. You're right about the yellow - try a piece of parchment (or waxed) paper available in groceries for cooking. It works perfectly and it is inexpensive.

So funny - a great start IMO. very fitting to express the shyness most of us feel at taking (and sharing!) SPs for a month! My only concern is the orange tone of the light. Makes your skin tone an unnatural color. I see your comments say the image is untouched. I think it can be further improved with this simple color adjustment.

Funny shot and your expression is just great to match the quirkiness of the set-up. Did you try in portrait orientation? I think it would give your whole composition more room to breathe.

Whoa! This is like entering an entirely different universe! I almost feel as if it is the guy, leaning on the door, who keeps it from opening and that the guy holding the door knob really wants to free the other. I really like the editing you've done and it is very powerful in conveying a sense of madness - makes me a bit uncomfortable...

You have amazingly beautiful eyes and I am jealous of your skin's glow. My only complaint is from the lack of detail, as if the image had been strongly filtered for noise, especially when I look at the eyelashes and the strands of hair on the right cheek.
