dew dropsby margiemuComment: I never tried a refraction shot like this. So I can't say too much about the blossom in focus within the drops. I give you a lot of credit to try and be as sucessful as this picture. |

EVENescenceby thewhiteafricanoComment: I really don't think your objects ask for a centered composition. Taking them out of the center and using the negative space for the bokeh formed by the other OOF blossoms could keep the viewer longer into your picture. |

To keep an even tuneby JudiComment: interesting angle. focus is where it should be. good timing to capture the focus of the player. Good eye to use the mic as the focal point offor him. |

Two of a kindby ehale92Comment: I believe this picture can be much enhanced with a little more thought. First the lighting: not enough to separate the dark tones of their jacket from each other, then too much reflection in the doors. 1-2 steps to the side and the reflections would have been gone. Then ofcourse you would have to rearrange your models away from your current centered approach. This seems to very static and unnatural. You're forcing your will and thought onto them. Did you ask them how they would want to arrange themselves for your picture? They would either get closer because they are close friends and show that, OR they would separate further from each other. Currently it apears very halfhearted, no commitment, one stands the other is already walking away. Oh and then 2 small technical issues: you are taller than they are, correct? So get down to their eye level and don't look down on them. The picture is taken handheld, right? You can see the softness everywhere. You should focus on the eyes or the mouth (same focal plane in this kind of shot). Try to retake this shot with these models but let them decide how they want to present themselves. You just try to capture what they show you. |

A Nice Pairby a_jhambComment: very hard to take a picture of plastic toys without annoying glares and reflections. Try to even more diffuse the light. this will also avoid these harsh shadows underneaeh the toys. |

Brothersby ragamuffingirlComment: I find it hard to comment on pictures that obviously mean a lot more to you than to the random viewer/voter. I'll just talk about technicals. focus is where it belongs. exposure is a tad too bright for the skin. good control of the reflection in the glasses. from a composition POV: too bad you cut off the one foot on the right side. I think going to landscape would have helped controlling the background better. the band of shrubs take away the focus from the boys. |
