Words : "Money Talks" 1953 Banknoteby StagoleeComment: "Take a photograph where complete words -- not just individual letters -- play a creative role in your composition."
I don't see anything creative in this literal, close-up representation of an old pound note. There is nothing of actual artistic merit that the photographer can take credit for. Technically, it is fairly sharp but there is no outside context to create a meaningful experience for the viewer except to show what a 1953 Australian one pound note looks like. |

Where are the words and how do they play a creative role in this photograph? |

Where's the creativity? This is just a literal representation of this monument.

Playing with trafficby jmleliiComment: I don't find that the words on the sign add creative value to this shot which is more about the streaking lights.

Bargainby JPRComment: The passerby walking her baby doesn't really add much meaning or interest to the sign. There isn't a a surprise factor to add humour or irony. This looks like a random snap shot. It is very blurry. |

Your favorite soupby PicoComment: The table cloth makes a very distracting background. There is too much glare on the spoon and the bowl. |

Wordby airaticComment: It doesn't look like sign language so my next thought is the fingers are creating a box and the intent is to represent the idea of , 'thinking outside the box' (a very overused expression, IMO).
Doesn't work for me, mostly because outside of that idea, it is just a snap shot with very little to hold my interest. |

~Words Mean Nothing. Image Is Everything.~by aaronb532Comment: Very tenuous connection to the challenge. Without the title, this is a pretty meaningless shot. Yes it contains words but the product labels don't add much meaning or relevance to the veiwing experience. |

Relaxed Readingby xcharrierComment: The words really aren't the focus of this shot. The book and the person are the focus. While the book contains words, the viewer can't read them so it is stretching it quite a bit to say words play a creative role in this shot.
