7081.jpgby heidaComment: Now this is much better in my opinion. Superb light and a touch stronger and more textured.

A rose with two-lipsby parrotheadComment: Well a big hello from the Critique Club!
Hi Parrothead.
Firstly let em say i hate selective desaturation ;D - but in this scene it is attractive to me for why i do not know.
I think your choice of angle is interesting and enhancing whilst also being creative. Many people would choose to shoot this portrait a turn to the right, but you have opted for a more lying down position which i think really adds interest to the shot.
The reds in my opinion are a little too dark and saturated - but that is down to personal taste.
Focus and grain is good, but i would like to have seen little more detail in the body area.
Overall i feel your final score of 5.56 is about right, if not a little lower than it should be.

Plantby stupidcatComment: Well a big hello from the Critique Club!
Hi stuipdcat
I think you have had a decent idea here that has not reached it's full potential. The focus and depth of field are excellent - you have cerated a soft yet interesting scene in which to view.
The plants look delicate and natural which I always think is a good sign on flower / plant shots.
The areas that let this down are exposure -it look s slightly underexposed by a stop or two. And also the cropping.
If it were me, i would crop into the main flower a tiny bit more, and also adjust the exposure to really bring those greens and whites out.
I feel your final score of 4.5944 is below what it deserved and feel many worse images finished higher than yours.

Flowers And The Killpecker Sand Dunesby GallatinComment: Well a big hello from the Critique Club!
Gallatin, I think you have done very well with this shot. A lot of expanse here which can result in either a blank result, or a boring picture.
Yet you have filled the area well, and with your use of aperture - you have created a very big sense of depth.
Your location body wise is good, and composition pretty OK - yet i feel the scene lacks a certain snap about it.
I feel the sky could do with darkening slightly, by using a poloriser on your camera you can create gorgeous deep blue skys which in this case would work wonders. In photoshop you could; just use th burn tool or use selective color changes.
That aside a very good effort and worthy of the final 6.09 you received.
