Beautiful photo, I don't get it though. A know a Periwinkle is a type of snail and looked it up in the dictionary and also found it a type of bush. Is there a fairytale character named Periwinkle?

An elusive Troll setting up camp

Very cool concept. Others seem to be knocking the use of dolls and figurines but this works. Would be a little better if the environment was darker, more of a night feeling. Perhaps depress the troll into the ground a little more so you don't see the solid part under the toes. Is that a candle or LED? Perhaps starting a small fire with some of the dead leaves would have given it some more realism. Another thought, perhaps some smoke in the background to simulate fog. I think it would add atmosphere.

I'm sure it's an optical illusion but the left hand seems disproportionately larger than the right. Perhaps more careful attention to the angle between camera and subject would correct this. I also don't really get a sense of hope from the image.
