Street Photographyby nikuserComment: I hope you want an honest opinion about this image ...
I think the lighting and everything else BUT the subject is excellent but the subject looks SO stiff and SO aware of the camera and SO posing ... It does NOT look candid to me, even if it was.
Sorry, I am not trying to offend ... just trying to share my opinion with you in case you wish to know it. |

Bri & Jay @ The Gala 2007by bs-photosComment: ... neither to I. I think it looks GREAT ... but ... sorry ... I hate those two low ones both right and left at the bottom that are not square ... I mean I REALLY hate them ... but I REALLY LOVE the rest so I hope you are not too offended with me saying that ...
Ok ... maybe ONE more thing ... if there was the TINIEST bit of breathing room around the edges of the "photos" so that they didn't actually TOUCH the border ... (insert "I would like it even better" here...) |

Preyby Jaded_HousewifeComment: Oh WOW! ... Awesome capture, Crystal. Great lighting and I like the PP too!
That is one of the BEST cat photos that I have ever seen.
P.S. I had one almost like that once of one of our three cats but the background was HORRIBLE and the lighting was horrible and the light was too dim and so there was major blur. It had the LICK thing going for it but the rest was trash. Not even CLOSE to being an image that one could rescue.
P.P.S.
The border is WAY to think IMO ... please quarter the thickenss of it to not take away from your gorgeous image. Message edited by author 2007-02-19 09:37:28. |

Gas Canisterby surfinbirdComment: I could have sworn that I commented on this image already ... either I forgot to hit the Post button or it was in a thread.
At any rate ... I love this photo and it is very much reminding me of a shot rescued from one of the World Wars ... I LOVE the PP in this that makes it feel so vintage and historical. I love the cropping, I love the DOF ... I love the fact that it does not need people in it.
Well anyways ... you are prolly getting the idea that I kind of like the finished product of this shot ... |

Baredby Jaded_HousewifeComment: Oh, Crystal ... this is SO human and SO feminine and SO beautiful and SO real and tech wise great TOO! ... Congratulations on ALL fronts!
I agree that you should not listen to those who say the lip pushed up is distracting ... whatever it is, it sells the honesty of this shot even more to me. That is this man's opinion. |
