Sunrise Warmingby GregoryBComment: That is simply stunning. I love how the wings are backlit. These guys are really really tiny. Nice going getting him to sit still :) |

Side Portrait of ButterFly by altruistComment: Your butterfly is beautiful and I believe she would have been enhanced greatly if you had a bit deeper DOF here. While her wings are in very good focus, her whole body is not and I think that is hurting this image a bit. Also, giving this a bit more headroom might have been a better choice. It would have given us a better area of bokeh and placed her better within the frame. As it is now, it looks like you tried to center her but failed. Your leading line takes me right into the photograph and then right back out. Maybe a crop to take it out totally. I am a big sucker for butterflies though :) Good luck in the challenge. |

watching the gliricidia bloomby arati_halbeComment: Your bokeh is nice but your foreground choice really does very little for this image. Perhaps one of those lovely flowers in the background would have made for a better subject because I can't see how the tree relates to the flowers and it's texture is distracting from the shapes they are making. However, your focus is good and your light is very nice. I do appreciate that you didn't blow out the sky. It has a beautiful blue colour which works very well with the pink in the blooms. Just remember it all comes down to composition and to find things that compliment each other in the frame. Good luck! :) |

Happy Holidays!by JCrest01Comment: Your bokeh is lovely. But, unless taking a portrait, it is rarely a good idea to center your subject. Seating this one on the left would have been a better choice. I don't care for the bright red frame, black or gray would have been a better choice here, IMO. If you had cropped it closer to the left hand side, it would have given the viewer a chance to be led to the ornament by the branch on the right. The snow on the ornament is a bit blown out. Your lighting would have been much more interesting had you taken the brightness down a bit or sped up your shutter when photographing the ornament. This has a lot of potential and shows creativity, which is good. Very nicely focused as well. Good luck! :) |
