Another DNMC, but an oobie take that I can overlook (as with the other similar shot in this challenge). Like the focus ona single lamp, but think you need to come in closer and wait for that big blob in the middle to break into several smaller ones, and adjust exposure to avoid blowing the highlights out. Lighting is too harsh; needs something external to soften it. White balance needs to be adjusted to remove the green cast, and next time flip the lamp around sound the ding on the base isn't showing.

I get your oobie take ... abstract motion inside the lava lamp. Still DNMC (cuz you didn't use the camera to create the motion), but I'm willing to overlook that. What I can't overlook is the overall green-yellow cast to the image (which could be corrected with a simple white balance adjustment), the dust or spots and soft focus on the leftmost lamp, and the trapped negative space between the three lamps. A tighter focus on a single lamp and some external lighting, or a different setup of the three lamps would have really helped here.

nice motion blur, but no abstractness scores this poorly in this challenge. Beyond that, the lines in the background and the pnuematic hose curving in and out of the bottom edge hurt the composition. Needs a bit more midtone contrast and more detail in the blacks to really pop as a B+W. Nice try.
