Nice depressing start to your walkabout. this would work really well with a telephoto lens compressing the depth and making the signs seem even closer together.

Nicely composed and exposed! The train really pops out from the background, which is colorful but just muted enough to avoid competing with the main subject. Lots of good sharp detail there; its a pic that can be looked at for a good while.

You could title this one "Paradise Lost." Bummer. There are too few independent bookseller's around. Fortunately we still have a few in San Francisco, so I get my fix at lunch. But my favorite ever is the Tattered Cover in Denver ... a great shop worth a visit if you're ever passing through. City Lights runs a close second, tho.
