The background is nicely handled but the white flower is rather distracting.

Nice capture! I think that cropping off the area under the feeder would strengthen this shot.

Adorable shot but I'm not sure I see anything that I'd consider bokeh.

I'd consider this more shallow depth of field than I would bokeh.

The selective desaturation is just not doing it for me here. I'm guessing that the full color version would be quite a bit beter.

I have to wonder if maybe this photo would be more appealing in color? It's somewhat hard to discern the different areas with the b&w.

This photo is suffering from a few things. First and foremost, it seems to have quite a bit of artifacting, most likely from the method you've used to resize. I suspect someone has already mentioned it, but if not, take a look at this tutorial on preparing your images for challenges. //www.dpchallenge.com/tutorial.php?TUTORIAL_ID=26

Secondly, it looks like you used an on-camera flash and that it gave you quite harsh lighting in the foreground.

Lastly, the background is quite distracting and unfortunately not out of focus enough to help support the subject of your photo. A wider aperture and more distance between your subject and background can help with that.

I don't see anything that I could consider bokeh, even with the loosest interpretation.

Lovely background and very cool bird! I only wish that we could see a little more of his face but I realize that they aren't exactly the most poseable subjects. :) Nicely done.

I think the background is nicely out of focus but I find it a bit too distracting for the shot. My eye is more drawn to the dark, busy stripes than it is to the subject...her face.
