Nothing wrong with your idea, the execution looks a little "raw" compared to the competition. For a simple idea like this (milk and cookies), you need a really sharp capture with a clean (almost studio) background or a very creative angle to catch the viewers attention. The chair in the background is a bit distracting and the crop at the top of the milk glass doesn't come across as intentional. I hope Santa enjoyed his cookies :-)

The cheese and wine floating in a sea of purple looks a little bit strange, for me... there's a natural "negative space" in the centre of the image, and the solid wall of purple gives me nothing to focus on here...

Striking photo and well processed. I love the expression on the dog :) The only tiny nitpick I have is where the image is cropped at the top... a fraction more or less leg might have looked better? 9 from me.

Mr Whiskers looks good with the sharpening, but the background bokeh has suffered and isn't attractive. I think the picture could be improved by applying a nice blur to the background to remove the distracting sharp highlights.

This is a beautiful photo, but I'm not sure that mountain and chapels "go together" any more than hills and cabins or streets and houses. It feels like a bit of a shoehorn for the current challenge. Great picture though.
