really nice use of natural light, not knowing the details of the shot, a reflector camera left to bounce light back onto the dark side of his face would have given a really nice even light

you dont have your settings listed so its hard to tell where things could be improved, the dof is great but i think cropping down closer to her head would have drawn more of our attention to your model and improved it greatly

the rotation of the shot really gives it an interesting look. its amazing how the simplest of actions in pp can dramatically change a shot

i think i may have commented on this shot elsewhere, i cant see what your fstop was but it seems it could be just a tad sharper. nice job with the high key b/g though

ahhh yes, i know the feeling well. i had a free study entry once that scored in the 5's and i was so irritated that i posted a rant in the description in which i swore off free studies forever, obviously that didn't last long. Dont let it get you too down. your score is not so much what people thought of your picture but the competition that surrounded it. think of all the amazing photographers on this site, they all get to pick from ANY shot they took during the year that didn't get into a challenge! it's pretty hard for any of us. keep shooting, you are improving all the time since you came here!
