Nov 30 - Railroad crossing

This reminds me of the few months that I spent in Michigan. Snow, cold, train tracks, grey sky. I was not happy with the grey skies that lasted for months after moving there from sunny West Palm Beach in S Florida.
The road crossing and the side track are a good metaphor for the way life goes along. The sort of underexposed look in everything except the snow captures the spirit of the weather very well.

I would probably enjoy a water commute like this, but that weather looks pretty uninviting to me. My first thought on seeing this was to wonder about the wind powered boat for a second before reasoning set in.

We have been lucky so far that the government can't tax us for seeing beautiful skies like this. One thing that strikes me about this shot are the bare trees. I'm not used to that here where I live. This is very real looking, which is what you would want directly from the camera.
