The choices in camera settings and the effect of the sharpening give this a nice edge that works very nicely with the subject and existing lighting.
The scene is classic, even to the title of the store, and the people add quite a diversity of interesting little side shows to the overall enjoyment of viewing the image.

This angle shows off that magnificent beak. Crop, focus, and background are perfect in this one. It's interesting that these birds are almost all black and white except for the beak and legs. I don't think I have ever seen one live, because they don't range this far south. Thanks for the good portrait view.

Sweet shot Wendy. The blue flowers and vase take it out of the normal "see the bird" image group.
I wonder if this is existing light with fill, or if you had a flash overhead plus fill?
