Fountain Abbeyby wingyisleedsComment: An attractive image of a place connected to a time long past. It must have been magnificent in it's glory days. It's nice that they mow the lawn to keep the weeds from taking over. I like old structures, but there are not many in Florida more than 100 years old. I noticed that in London, there is an interesting combo of new and old, side by side all over town. |

Ancient, Modern, Polishedby msdoubletroubleComment: Excellent and thoughtful as it relates to the challenge, and love the colors. Too bad it was basic editing, or you could have rubbed out the reflection of the vertical scissors on the agate. |

What a pair!by scotthadlComment: I had no trouble at all connecting the dots to make this diagonal. Like J.P. said, see if you can scrub out the bright spots, at least the ones under his ear. The leaves are ok with me. I like the border idea too. Best wishes to the couple. |

It's a Wonderful Life by mpetersComment: Killer pic. I smile every time I see it.
I sometimes get this low angle by using a monopod and self timer or remote, and just put the camera on top of my boot or shoe, then turn the image 180 later. I have a bit of back problem when I get this low and try to see thru the viewfinder.
Congrats on the ribbon! |

A Dirty Canvasby kausikmpiComment: Gee, I was pretty close about the "dirt filter". I actually was wondering how you got that effect, thanks for telling. |

Buried Aliveby DrAchooComment: Exellent image for a P&S. I know the feeling with my SLR in the shop too. That explains the DOF thing that seemed not quite right to me during voting. That dirt looks like plants would love it.
Maybe "Alien Compost" would be an alternate title? |

The Coal Miner's Candleby shamerComment: Easy there Pineapple. To me, the nice candle holder indicates that this miner was at home . Still, I understand about the safety lamps thing. |

Digging to Chinaby dsidwellComment: So that's what a frozen smile looks like? :)
It's great that your photography is becoming a family thing again.
Top 2 in "dirt" for me. Excellent effect with this pic. |

Enjoying Cookiesby JRalstonComment: Very good image of brothers being boys. I seem to want to watch for a minute to see how they interact over the cookies. I notice that the parade isn't keeping their attention very well at the moment, with the cookies for a distraction. If you used a dodge tool to brighten up around the subject here, it works. |
