I could not tell in the contest entry, but I guessed correctly that this was in S Georgia as soon as the image popped up on screen. I lived in Adel for a few months. Good work on your part to see that this would make a good candidate for the "Entrance" challenge with some simple but effective tinkering.

I get an interesting perception of very cold, with something not quite right, because of the very alive looking green in the frosty looking background. The green seems to add to the perception of cold for some reason. Good PP to make this what it is. You were probably right about not putting it into the "Shallow" challenge.

The bit of rock in the left corner gives a good sense of depth to this image. It's an awesome place, and the image looks like it should be a post card.

This is a snowy egret, once called a "plume bird" and hunted for its feathers for ladies hats. They are still not very common in Florida today.
Good capture. It is not easy to get the black and white both to show up right in digital images of white birds like this one because of the huge difference in reflectivity.

Butterflycaledic! These were everywhere in the late 60's and early 70's. Beautiful butterfly, and very nice capture the way the light from above reflects up under the wings. The background is fun, but seems to distract from the subject. Very colorful image.

This is a very dynamic looking place, and it looks like a dangerous one for boating. It makes a good photo subject.

Very interesting wood work, with the fancy door. I would like to see more area of the doorway, but it looks like you were going for the number to be the primary subject. The image tech is good.

Looks like a leftover recycled from another recent challenge. Nothing wrong with the image quality, but a bit of a strech to fit it into this theme.
