Rusting Awayby Yo_SpiffComment: I like this shot a lot. The old Studebaker or Dodge wrecker looks a lot like the one in the kids movie "Cars". |

Frazer Manhattanby Yo_SpiffComment: This is really sweet, and the side light makes it just excellent. I have an old "Motors Manual" that has all the specs for this car in it. |

Cater Foodby AliciaComment: I suppose that I must be a culinary illiterate. Some of the ingredients sound like they would be very good tasting things to eat, and others I can't even pronounce LOL.
I see what you are talking about with the focus. In this shot it is behind the foreground. If you were shooting autofocus, check to see that you don't have spot metering set to get the high part of the frame. I am not sure about how the Canon works, but I can set the S3 Fuji to focus on the nearest object, or to focus on one of 5 points in the viewfiner. The nearest object option would work good for this kind of shot.
If you manually focused, then your eyes may be a little impaired by the recent illness.
I hope that you recover your strength so that you can do the party without being overly stressed. |

A Winter Dipby annigComment: It must have been difficult to shoot this while laughing. I am glad that you had your camera, and remembered to use it at this time. They will like having this shot to talk about the little adventure in years to come.
What's a boot liner? ; P |

Todays Specialsby BAMartinComment: This is very nice in the way the light and shadow divides the frame in half. I bet that the people who run the tire shop would like to have a frame with 5X7's of this series of photos as a sort of thank you, when you finish shooting the series. Who knows, you may pick up an ad shooting job or two from people who go there to get tires and see it. Everyone needs tires at sometime. So far it's been a cool series of images, and they have made an interesting addition to the shots in the side challenge. |

Batsby RetroesqueComment: That is awesome nature! Good for you for making the decision to go there when you did. It's also good that there are no flying cows in Aussie land. : ) |

lemon1by pjangelComment: Nice experiment result. The centered composition would draw fire from the "rule of thirds" police in a challenge, but I like the way you have centered the subject. The border is nice too. |

botgarden.jpgby desertoddityComment: I find it interesting that the shape of the rock in the left foreground , and the water path combine to create an illusion that there is a shadow that does not fit right with the way the light is hitting the sculpture. I am neutral about the color addition. It would still be a nice shot without it, but it does add a dose of color to an otherwise unsaturated looking scene. I would try it in B&W, then add the color overlay or filter. The sky looks good in color. |

Day twelve.jpgby PhotomouseComment: I have looked at both the color and the toned version of this a couple of times each, and I like the color shot because I can see the statues much better in color. The sky colors blending into the Navy grey also adds atmosphere to the scene. |

Sunday Morningby RetroesqueComment: That is a fun looking shot. It's good that you had the very wide lens to put you close to the dog and make it the star of the shot. The B&W is working in this shot too. |
