Egretsby scooter97Comment: Last month was nesting time here again. This looks like it might have been at Ding Darling Refuge, on Sanibel Island. That's a great birding spot for shore and wading birds. Great pose in this one. |

May 21 - On a poleby hajekaComment: I guess that it would be a "short walk" for the heron LOL.
Mirror lenses are fun to use, and can get the "reach" without being big and clumsy to use. I have noticed though, that they are not as sharp in detail when you look at the images at 100% crop. The "different" bokeh and the fixed aperture make it a thinking process to get good photos with them, as you have to consider what's behind the subject, and if there is enough light to shoot without motion blur. They do allow you to capture many scenes that would not be possible though, without spending a ton of money and having a huge lens to lug around. Looking through some of the images you have posted in this S C, I can tell that the lens that you are using has better resolution than the older ones that I have and use. That may be partly because the 7D is a full frame camera too.

jog anywayby skewsmeComment: I like the scene, the focus and the composition in this one. I didn't vote this challenge, but I thought that this would place much higher. |

Dipper_3405by hahn23Comment: Shallow DOF is right for this one. People tend to overlook the "LBB's" or the Little Brown Birds. They are truly under-appreciated. |

Spotted!by EnlightenedComment: I wonder what that hand semaphore signal means? Good trick to get the guy with hands on his head and the sign behind him like that.
The guy with the binocs is surprised looking. |

Hopeful performance in Old Montréalby fisheyeComment: The first thing that I notice about this image is the composition being a lot of lined up squares. Squares everywhere, the box the tiles, the tree box, the accordion, even the crop. It makes the not square shape of the guy stand out even more. The photo in the box is a plus as well. This is good street photography! |
