March Macro - Day 8 - Orchidby valknerComment: The light fading off at the bottom helps to draw the viewer into the center in this image. It's pretty, and the centered composition seems to fit nicely with the subject. |

mike.jpgby MAKComment: I don't know if you were aware when you shot this that the BG looks a blurry bit like a huge robot's face. Great capture for that reason, and the DOF is perfect IMHO. From the title I expect that you may have been referring to the BG. |

macro11.jpgby icu1965Comment: Woo Hoo! I get to be first to comment that this is "sharp as a tack" : )
Actually the focus is at the far side of the cupped cap of the tack. It makes an interesting subject because of the shape, and the texture in the metal there. The shadow like a reflection is cool too.
You didn't post shooting info, but I am guessing from DOF that aperture was about f 5.6 or 8. |

Macro Day 9by socalsteveComment: The lens is a "curved field" lens. Lenses for copy work, and some like the Micro Nikkors are "flat field" in their focus, which is great for copy work and shooting in the small stuff world. Take a look thru your setup at the inside of a bowl, and you may see focus all over when up this close.
This image has an almost fisheye look because of the way the edges are stretched. The grains of sand are a good macro subject. |

day-8-Edit.jpgby ZeppKashComment: You beat me to this. I was going to shoot a handle of a tool like this. You did a great job with lighting to get it as even as it is overall. I like that I can see the dimples in the metal in the centers of the diamonds at certain areas around the curved side. |

Soft & Fuzzy - Day 6by sherpetComment: Your garden is so diverse! This shot reminds me of strawberries and vanilla ice cream. I am off to find that now. |

Cactus Thorns - Day 7by sherpetComment: You find beauty in all the places where you point your new lens Shez. The tilt is good in this case. |
